Canyon, Texas is a great community south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. It is Home to, West Texas A & M University, Panhandle Plains Historical Museum, the famous Texas-Outdoor Musical, and –Palo Duro Canyon–The Grand Canyon of Texas. It is in Randall County and it is the County Seat. Canyon was founded on Christmas Day in 1887 and was incorporated in 1906.
